As a group we decided to investigate and research the history of the engineering complex. Every time I walked by the engineering buildings such as the main complex with RGAN and the Anderson Tower I noticed how aesthetically appealing it is, but also how it seemed isolated. Once you enter these buildings you notice that building becomes more functional than it is architecturally beautiful. Personally I want to see how these buildings came into existence and the names behind the buildings. I also want to find out possible innovation or advancements in the engineering complexes or possible new buildings.
I’m not exactly sure on what kind of representation or map of the engineering places I would like to do. Right now I’m thinking of maybe a map of feelings along with thoughts as you travel throughout the buildings. Also connect each building with similarities or journeys of certain students.
When I saw this map, it helped describe what I go through every time I have to brainstorm or write a paper. This map is so descriptive of the process and is visually appealing. It deploys cartoons to make this seem more relatable to the audience and makes it less technical.
