  1. I was wondering as part of University of Kentucky’s initiative to become a Top 20 Public Research University / College, what plans and goals does the College of Engineering have?
  2. In these plans are there possible upgrades and updates on the current buildings?
  3. Does the College of Engineering plan to develop and build new buildings like the new Davis Marksbury Building?
  4. If there are plans for future development, if you don’t mind me asking where could the possible funding come from?
  5. Also as part of the future of the College of Engineering, is the college attempting to create further connections between industries and the academics?
  6. What personal goals, and what personal investments do you have in the advancement of the College of Engineering.

Top 20 College Research:

Mandated by the Kentucky General Assembly in 1997 to become a Top 20 Public University in Research by 2020.

Increase Faculty.

Increase Enrollment by 7000 students.

Increase Expenditures to over $700 million dollars.

Set up benchmarks and comparison to other Top 20 universities.

University of Kentucky is currently ranked 35th out of 88 public research universities.

Overall goal to push UK into a top 20 facility while

  • Increasing the Health of citizens across Kentucky.
  • Increase the level of education as well as graduates in Kentucky.
  • Solving key issues that effect the state of KY.
